Condolence Board

  1. Sincere condolences to Suzanne, Bobby, Ray, Randy and the family. What a tragic loss of a loving father and grandfather, brilliant scholar of the Chinese language, loyal and helpful friend of many at Tsung Tsin Association, where he gave his time and expertise so freely. I will sadly miss his jovial companionship at various social events and dinner reunions. R.I.P, dear friend.

  2. Mr. Lee always had a smile for me. He laughed easily and was funny and kind. He was dearly loved by his family, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
My sincere condolences to the family.
    Lesley Hering

  3. I would like very much if the following names can be put on my tree, these two names are father and son. 李新榮 — Basil Austin Lee 李寶祥 — Johnson Lee

    My sincere thanks

  4. To the family and friends of Basil Lee – please accept our sincere condolences.
    Madge and Edward Hering

  5. Lee Sensang, Thank you for your Hakka knowledge and your help. You were never to busy to answer my questions. I will surely miss you. RIP.

  6. Dear Lee family,
Thank you so much for sharing your father. He was such a generous, funny, and gentle man — the definition of a gentleman. I always loved hearing him speak with that rich, resonant voice. There’s a little less light in the world without him as he made such a positive impact on all who met him. He will surely be missed. But what a life well lived.

  7. Deepest sympathy to the family. Mr. Lee was such a friendly man. He always came up to speak to my husband when he saw him waiting for me on a Sunday evening at Tsung Tsin. He will be missed too for the help and support he gave to the Association.

  8. To The Basil Lee family:

We are so sorry to learn of the passing of Basil. Our Mother Jena Chong was such a close friend of his, when ever we have met he has always inquire about her, she was very saddened to hear of his passing. He will be deeply missed, especially at our Tsung Tsin events. I have a vague memory of him as a child growing up in Jamaica, especially related to the Chinese Benevolent Association. We hope the family takes some solace from his many friends and cherish his memories.

    Bev & Franklin Lue

  9. Our sincere sympathy and condolences to the Lee family. Basil had been a childhood friend of mine since he and his sister, Shirley, attended the MoBay Chinese School. He was the best student ,giving speeches in Chinese and playing the leading role in our school play! Basil was a kind and humorous fellow, always laughing and giving jokes.
His father, Johnson Lee and his lovely mother, who was always very nicely dressed and so serene are a throwback to our generation. Basil left Mobay for China with his father soon after this.
We later met up at TTA where he volunteered to teach Hakka to the children and then the adults. Basil proved to be a patient and informative instructor, well admired by all. May he RIP. God bless you all.

  10. Sincere condolences to Basil’s entire family – children, grand-children and great-grand grandchildren.

Thanks to Bobby for his comforting conversation recently. Thanks also to Bobby and Carol along with Randy and Sue for taking care of their father and my dear friend, Basil. He was most helpful during my Presidency at Tsung Tsin Assocaiton and was our wise advisor for the Hakka Fun-time Learning program which many children, their parents and grand-parents will remember for a long time. He was so proud of his Hakka culture and Chinese heritage – Basil was truly a Hakka Chinese gentleman.

May Basil Rest In Eternal Peace with his beloved Gloria and Ricky.

    With heartfelt sympathy
    Carol (Williams-Wong)
